A tribute to

storytellers

As a kid, my imagination boomed with fireworks whenever my grandfather gathered us to narrate tales of adventure from his life, particularly at bedtime. We would gather with our sleeping gear ready to be wrapped up in his ‘quilt’ of stories. This graphic zine is hand-drawn on watercolor paper using inks and watercolor.

I chose to tell the story through the main three characters - me and two of my cousins travelling through the ways of his words and meeting each other in real life.

More often than not, there would be added sparkle to the tales. Translating this to the visuals, I used a flow of lines and eye movement for the same. Colors, textures and lines play with the simple narrative.
